Are you aware of our park bench program which continues on into the new year? As you stroll along the path in Kalama Park, you have the opportunity to rest on a number of benches generously donated to the KCA by a diverse group of community minded entities whose name shows on the affixed plaque . In the current ongoing program, Alexander & Baldwin, Pi’ilani Village Shopping Center, Finishing Edge Concrete Construction, Monsanto Hawaii, St. Theresa Church, Kihei, Kessler family In Memory of Barbara S. Kessler 1948-2009, and Maui Dreams Dive Co are participants. Is your business or ohana interested in participating? Call or write KCA for information on a variety of ways to have a bench placed at your favorite park.

Aloha All- this is Bob Richardson. Five of the 10 benches installed at Kalama Park 3 years ago have experienced rust on the leg sets and have been removed. Three more will be removed for the same reason. Galvanized legs are on site and will be installed shortly. The benches have proven to be very popular and will be installed in basically the same areas. The bench backs, with attached plaques, and the bench seats will be used again with the new galvanized leg sets. Sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate Goodfellow Bros. and the other donors that helped with the initial expenses and we will have the benches back in place shortly.
