KCA Long Advocated for Low-Cost Housing Project in Kihei

The Kihei Community Association support for the Kaiwahine Village project in North Kihei started over four years ago. We testified to keep the project alive for inexpensive housing for Kihei residents on this North Kihei property. We prevailed.

The Association was looking for an angel to fulfill Kihei’s need for economical housing solutions.

Then, Doug Bigley and Ikaika Ohana arrived on the scene.  Ikaika Ohana is a  nonprofit 501(c) 3 affordable housing developer which also coordinates with social services, a large network of Fortune 500 companies and other housing industry partners all for the ultimate goal of providing safe and decent living communities for low-income families.

Now we see what they brought to North Kihei! Sometimes you DO get what you wished for and persistence DOES pay off!
