As we walked along the shoreline in North Kihei, north of the north end of Kalepolepo county park about 9:00 am today, where South Kihei Road (SKR) is closed for construction, we noticed that the ocean close to shore was riddled with brown sections. It extended as far as the south end of Mai Poina Park, where  a few wind surfers and kite boarders waited in seeming anticipation for sufficient velocity to launch. So far we see no State Department of Health (DOH) brown water alert, but will be vigilant. Fortunately we saw no one in the ocean in that area.
