Council’s GET Committee approved both Charter Changes considered this afternoon

UPDATE 3/1/20 In response to members input on county charter potential changes, while these 2 committee approved ( on 2/25/20)  ones move on to full Council likely this month, there are many more under consideration. Our guess is the two which were deferred and some new ones will likely be on the next GET committee agenda. So we await committee chair Mike Molina’s decision.

OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR AND PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR AS THE COUNTY’S
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER) (GET-10(5))

KCA testified in support of all four, so we hope our urging will also be reflected when the committee reconvenes at a future date. When these two and any future ones go to the full council’s two readings, they require a “super majority” ( 6 votes) to be able to go on this November’s ballot for voter decision.
