This week – Wednesday, December 7, 5:30 pm at the Kihei Community Center – the South Maui Community Plan Advisory Committee will be meeting to continue to discuss the future of housing in South Maui. The Community Plan is to guide housing development for the next 20 years. The locations of housing (land use) will be discussed next year, but this week we will discuss affordable housing, what mix of housing we need, what requirements we should have on new housing developments – and more.

Your testimony will have the most impact if it directly references proposed policies and actions that are to be discussed at the week’s meeting. The best way to ensure that is to submit written testimony by noon on a Monday for the specific topics of the week’s meeting to wearesouthmaui@mauicounty.gov. You can also testify in person.
