At a special meeting of the KCA BOD, several board members discussed, via a conference  call with Towne Development, the North South Collector road to be built between Walua Place and Keonekai Road in South Kihei. Christopher Lau from Towne  and Karlynn Fukuda of Munekiyo and Hiraga answered questions and offered background information concerning their request to the County Planning Commission for a five year extension for the requirement to build this short segment for the long awaited road across Kihei, which was a condition for building their two developments in this area, which are about 98% completed. The original SMA permit was granted in September 2005, and Towne advised they began building the road in October 2006.

KCA plans to offer testimony at the Planning Commission tomorrow (5/8/12,)  as we did on January 10, 2012, to exert influence to expedite the process and get this portion of the community road built.
