Long-time South Maui community hero Buck Joiner explains in this video the risks to students and drivers of having kids walking along or across the highway, and proposes a practical and inexpensive way to utilize the existing underpass for high schoolers living makai of Pi‘ilani Highway to get to the school on the mauka side.
