FEMA visits Kihei to explain present and proposed Flood Zones

Eric Simmons of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offered a presentation to about 30 interesed attendees in North Kihei on Monday (3/12/12) evening concerning the National Flood Insurance Program, As flood zone maps flashed on the screen behind him, Simmons answered a variety of questions about zones and flood insurance. In addition, the perimeter of the room contained representatives from the State’s DLNR and the County’s Planning Department with computers, reading to look at individual situations and answer questions.
