Under Chair Biasa’s direction, this committee heard a presentation from the State of Hawaii’s various agencies on the Pulehunui Master plan. The overall plan was presented by MITCH HIRANO, AICP, of MUNEKIYO & HIRAGA, INC., via power point for all State agencies, as about sixty sat in gallery observing. Preceding this ten Maui residents offered testimony, none in oppostion, but some only in support of specific segments. The nine member committee, missing Vice Chair Don Couch on this South Maui issue, then began deliberating and questioning . We were only able to remain for the first two hours but look for a complete professional report by Chris Hamilton in the Maui News.

- South Maui Community Plan Update
Why was Don Couch missing from this hearing? Isn’t this proposed project in the Kihei-Makena Community Plan and isn’t he supposed to represent South Maui?
This hearing was the same hearing last week at the Kihei Community Center, which I attended. I was ill. I kept tabs on the meeting – no action was to be taken. Feel free to call me if you have questions like this or anything else. My number is 270-7108.
