The Maui Parks Dept held a blessing for the new Pedestrian Trail at Kalama Park on Tuesday June 9th. Sue Kiang and Tamara Horcajo spoke on behalf of the Parks Department and the collaborative effort that led to the completion of this project. Mayor Tavares spoke to the history of Kalama Park and the pedestrian path. KCA President Jon Miller spoke about the community partnership with the Parks Department and two new coral reef interpretive signs. Andrew Beerer spoke on behalf of KPAT’s efforts, that have inspired positive change at Kalama Park.

Kimokeo Kapahulehua and his Halau conducted a beautiful blessing. The many attendees then spread sea salt on the path as part of the blessing.
