Makena’s past and future – public informational meeting sponsored by Sierra Club Maui

Presentations on the latest archaeological finds above Makena Landing and how the 152 unit project on 47 acres proposed in 2017, has changed.
(Spoiler alert: lots fewer units, no multistory condos, many new or expanded archaeological sites, acres of archaeological preserve, and a much fuller story of Makena’s history- and still more to come….)

Panelists include:
Archaeologist Tanya Lee-Grieg (‘aina archaeology)
Ka’imi Judd (Makena Resort rep)
Clare Apana (Sierra Club Maui rep)
Ashford DeLima (Ho’oponopono O Makena  rep)
Lucienne de Naie (Maui Tomorrow rep)
Possibly others…
Questions can be posted on FB for panelists to answer.
The three community groups who took legal action to get a fuller archaeological study on the Makena lands would appreciate hearing from all those who came to walk the land of Makena over the years, to share mana’o.  Many important community decisions lie ahead on preservation plans for cultural sites; cultural access; traditional trails, community projects etc.
