#kihei 4/26/17. Your Association expressed some South Maui concerns to the Budget & Finance Committee on the “draft” FY 2018 Budget presented to that committee by Riki Hokama late on Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday morning, we asked for positive consideration of marine water quality studies; retaining the current “3 can plan” in two districts; sufficient South Maui Park Assessment Funds, and the county wide plan to enforce short term rental (STR) regulations by contracting a commercial firm capable to do so, since the Administration Planning Department is seemingly unable.

We selected these items based on membership and community input. We do not expect to see the final proposed budget for about another month so observation and input may continue.
