This afternoon at the South West corner of South Kihei Rd (SKR)  and Waipuilani we see a telephone pole down.

A glimpse of the base of this pole reveals why it is grounded and blocking the South lane of Waipuilani. We expect as the corner is often flooded by stormwater, that may be a contributing factor to the demise of the pole.

Hawaiian Telcom appeared on the scene,, indicating it was their pole holding their communication lines that were down, so first step was to cone off the location

A second truck stopped in SKR, seen behind the top of pole supported by a cyclone fence rail, which is keeping the lines off the ground
