We always wonder what motivates a vandal to destroy property needlessly, as we encounter a second “burned to ground” Porta-Potty at Kihei beaches. The first episode occured back on Oct 5 near intersection of So Kihei Road (SKR) and Uwapo, adjacent to the new bus shelter. A week later, the mess was removed and a new unit installed a week later, on Oct 13.
Then this week (10/23/12) at Charlie Young Beach we find another arsonist’s casualty, which was to be replaced on 10/26/12. So all this fool achieves is wasting someone’s money and inconveniencing the community for a few days . Could that possibly give someone a sense of accomplishment? Have you observed other examples of burned out Porta-Potties at our South Maui beaches?
