Maui County government hears about “form-based codes on Tuesday- KCA did not

Yesterday (8/27/13) first before Don Couch’s Council Planning Committee, then at the Planning Commission scheduled for 1:00 PM, California’ based Calthorpe  Associates’  urban designer and planner John David Beutler offered a presentation on “form based planning codes.”  Currently Mr Beutler and his firm are contracted by Kihei’s own Research and Technology Park (R & T) to help guide their expansion. Unfortunately, when three KCA volunteers arrived at the Planning Commission for the 1:00 presentation, we were advised it had been presented  earlier (11:00) AM due to Commission schedule changes, so we have no report to the community.
