The KCA appreciates that the mayor agrees to meet with the board of directors each quarter to listen to our community’s concerns. Last Monday, directly from the new Kihei roundabout blessing and grand opening, several members of the BOD headed up to the ninth floor to voice concern for the very long awaited N-S collector road (nothing until 2014 earliest), continue building in wetlands and flood zones, water for the long proposed Kihei (BOE) High School (no problem), improved communications by County departments with the KCA, and numerous other issues. We were surprised to learn that the mayor had not see our letter of March 11, https://www.gokihei.org/environment/kca-questions-whether-piilani-promenade-outlet-mall-is-in-compliance-community-plan-land-use-commission-order concerning the Eclipse company’s proposed Pi’ilani Promenade Outlet Mall, but he did advise he would obtain it from staff, and offer KCA a written response to our concerns.
