Here we see two Kihei area gulches, one untouched since last season’s floods, the other experiencing extensive heavy work by the Highways division of Maui County’s Department of Public Works occuring on 11/14/11. Will this affect the impact on any flooding this winter, before the rains begin. Last season, our near shore waters were murkey and brown at least until mid summer. Sediment is a major cause of reef degredation.
