The main segment of the meeting featured four guests:

Elizabeth Pickett, Co-Executive Director of Hawaii Wildlife Management Organization (HWMO)

Henry “Hanale” Lindo, Assistant Chief of Operations, Department of Fire and Safety

State Senator Angus McKelvey

Mike Williams, President of Maui Tomorrow Foundation and past chair of Maui County Cost of Government Commission

Mike Williams and Henry Lendo

KCA board member Bob Schaberg

This major segment of the meeting on wildfire protection and mitigation was moderated by KCA director Bob Schaberg.  The first two presenters, Elizabeth and Angus offer slide presentations shown on the professional quality visual equipment provided by Pro Arts.

Elizabeth Pickett, Co- Executive Director of Hawaii Wildlife Management Organization (HWMO)

Hawaii State Senator Angus McKelvey for South and West Maui Island

Bob requested input from the latter two presenters, Chief Henry and Michael Williams with some pertinent questions relevant to their efforts on the topic. The Chief speaking as a Fire Department leader, and Michael regarding a 2021 report from the Cost of Government Commission he chaired, that was instigated by the years-ago wildfire in Lahaina. Unfortunately, that report was basically ignored by the prior County Administration.

Unfortunately, the Maui Food Bank (MFB) donations collected this meeting were manini, so we ask all to contribute nutritious food products or cash to MFB directly.

You can watch the video recording of the entire meeting on the KCA Facebook page
