KCA director Kelly King has resigned from the KCA board to avoid any conflict as she announced she is running to reclaim her South Maui seat on the County Council.  After three terms she  chose  not to run for reelection, as she considered running for State Legislator, but on last possible day, she filed for the office of the Mayor, but was unsuccessful.

Now after sitting out for two years, she declared she will begin a campaign to take back that seat
