Remember the drastic situation last December & January along the near shoreline of No. Kihei as the “mud floods” desended? Concerned about this winter? The clean water committee of the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council is working to present a flood forum focusing on how to keep No. Kihei from being swept away and more degredation of the coral reef system. Meeting on 10/4, the group chaired by Maile Carpio, has formulated a plan for a presentation in this affected area at 5:00 PM on Friday, Nov.18 to address the problem and seek solutions from a variety of stakeholders. KCA will be a co-sponser of the event with the Council, along with 20 other Maui organizations. This friday 5:00 PM at the Whale Sanctuary on S Kihei Rd. Mahalo.
