If you drive on numerous streets in Kihei, you may well be aware of ruts, bumps, cracks, holes and uneven surfaces. Not every street, but not rare either, and mostly unavoidable. So would you drive on this one?

With no one working on this holiday, we were able to get a close look at the surface of South Kihei Road by Wailaka Place. It certainly is not completely repaired, but one could well drive on it, as we often do drive on roads in this condition and worse.

Now there IS this one rut running the entire width of South Kihei Road. How about if we call in a traffic calming device, like an inverted speed bump?? You would not speed into it a second time

A line of huge rocks have been dropped into huge crevice, but lots more needed to come to road level on North side of Kulanihako’i Stream gulch
