Update on repair between Kulanihāko‘i Stream and Wailana Place
It is now two weeks since the storm, which resulted in two segments of the south-bound lane of South Kihei Road collapsing again. County Public Works (DPW) has attacked these matters, after first removing all the mud and debris washed onto and around the road. Today we can see both pukas have been filled.

The intersection of Kaonoulu and South Kihei Road remains closed as it is in between the two failed segments. But this puka had numerous large rocks lifted into it and the filled with gravel and sand.

Here we can see where the huge puka is now filled awaiting the laying of the road surface across from Wailana Place

Here we see the lineup of mounds on the edge of South Kihei Road above the beach. We also see the the roadway is all almost level now.
