UPDATE 7/16/20 Decision expected this morning at Council’s PSLU Committee, which starts at 9:00 AM

UPDATE: 7/9/20  Still no decision today. This was sole item on PSLU committee this morning and  there were just a few testifiers, but after seeking input  from several department  leaders and discussion among the seven members, shortly after noon today Chair Paltin said pau, see you next Thursday 7/16. Stay tuned

 

UPDATE:  7/2/20  Well over fifty guys participated this evening for a reasonable discussion and Q & A  on this proposed project. We commend Council Member King for organizing this wide open forum and appreciate participation by the Aina Lani Pacific LLC team and so many community members. South Maui District Councilor Kelly King has arranged a public meeting July 2nd at 5:00 PM regarding a proposed workforce housing project potentially slated for the undeveloped land next to South Kihei Road and Kilohana Drive.

Expected to attend are developers Aina Lani Pacific, LLC of Lahaina; the Farina family, Kihei residents and landowners; homeowner association representatives from the Kihei area; and government officials.

The Kihei Community Association has met with the developers before, in an effort to clarify this project, since while we have a strong record to support housing that is truly available and affordable for our community, There was a lengthy list of community concerns beyond the necessary change of zoning.

This meeting is open to everyone and we urge participation.
