Planning Dept comes to Kihei for a convenient evening meeting

PROPOSED CHANGES FOR SHORELINE AND SPECIAL MANAGEMENT AREA (SMA) REGULATIONS UNVEILED

Commencing at 5:00 PM at the Community Center this past Thursday, Department Director Michele McLean led a team of  shoreline planners including Jeffery Dach and Jim Buika, strongly complemented by the outstanding Coastal Geologist from the UH Sea Grant Project, Tara Owens. 

Together they presented a lot of information and answered a lot of questions from over 65 meeting attendees.

The two related but distinct matters, Shoreline Rules and Special Management Area (SMA) Rules, were presented separately, as there are two distinct sets of rules (laws).
