As there has been a dearth of these committee meetings this summer for a number of reason, this morning we welcomed Department of Public Works (DPW) Director David Goode accompanied by County engineer Ty Takedo to address the Pre Final Draft Storm Water Plan for Kihei.
You may recall back on May 16, the Director unveiled the plan at our general membership meeting and offered to have department engineers attend a committee meeting to further address it. Finally (after that dearth) the committee was able to do so for not only its members, but for several invited guests from the community as well.
This is a long-term process, and this is just a draft of a plan, but certainly something has to be done to mitigate these recurring devastating storm water events, which flood homes and streets, and contribute to annihilating the coral reef system. KCA is most appreciative of the accommodation of the two k?ne from DPW.
