This afternoon (10-27-15) your Association joined the other eight participating organizations to further the effort for a wetlands restoration at Makena State Park. The Coalition’s long term efforts at Paniaka Fishpond plods forward in this very complex effort within the Park.

After over a year, mostly awaiting a response from the State, ( see https://gokihei.org/?s=Oneloa&submit=Search ) a 13 page agreement, we met concerning a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the participation groups, as well as discussing the proposed agreement with the state’s Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR).

It should be noted that all facets of this environmental project are voluntarily being assumed by the Coalition, but since it would take place in the State Park, it requires the Department’s permission and approval. Stay tuned.
