New location, new day of week, new time, but it IS in Kihei in February and PWF is celebrating the Humpbacks once again

In 2018 there was no Maui Whale Day Festival in Kihei, although there had been over three decades worth of annual celebrations.
There will be an event in this new year of 2019, however with major modifications.
Councilor Kelly King spoke with us early last year and advised she was working to have the County grant money for the whale celebration event this year. That likely was a factor in part to Pacific Whale Foundation’s (PWF) decision to stage something again.
The whale celebration event moves from Kalama park to Azeka’s shopping center, commencing at 6:00 PM on February 22nd. If you are counting, you note this is the FOURTH FRIDAY of the month, and it is apparent that this will be in coordination with that monthly event. More details will be forthcoming from the Pacific Whale Foundation.
