Friday afternoon a concerned hui of community members were offered time to present and discuss a series of issues pertaining to South Maui wetlands, flooding and stormwater to Councilman Alika Atay. We not only had member Alika Atay but both of his helpful EA’s, Trinette Furtado and Brian Bardellini, working with the group of guys from Kula Makai, Aha Moku O Maui Inc., our Community Association BOD, and KCA member & environmental scientist Robin Knox.

Alika asked our concerns one by one, offered input & suggestions and answered questions, supplemented by input from Trinette and Brian, as the scheduled one hour meeting almost doubled in length. Engagements like this encourage community input and activism for the betterment of our community.
