KCA attempted to have various State Agencies offer a presentation of their development plans for Puunene several months ago to no avail, but now seems Senator Roz Baker has convinced five state agencies to offer a joint presentation on the State’s Master Plan for the area on Monday, August 27 at 5:30 PM at the Community Center. Senator Roz Baker will host a public information meeting on the preparation of a Master Plan for the State lands in the ahupua’a of Pulehunui, often referred to as Puunene,  underway by the State of Hawaii Departments of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR,) Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL,) Public Safety, Accounting and General Services (DAGS,) and the Office of State Planning together with the County of Maui. Public comments will be accepted. Light refreshments will be served.

Much of this area is included within the Kihei-Makena Community Plan, thus will have a great impact on our general membership.
