Caring for the Aina
Through Preservation, Protection & Education

A new project to fight climate change – by creating more shade in our (overpruned) parking lots! MG&B, along with the Kihei Community Association, will work to achieve three goals: outreach, recognition and legislation.
See our cool new brochure – and join the campaign!

• June 17, 2023 – (6) monkey pod trees were planted in the A&B Sugar
Museum’s newly acquired field.
• July 1, 2023 – In fond memory of writer Laurel Murphy, a Koai’a tree was
planted at the Sugar Museum. The gathering with friends, colleagues and
relatives was heartfelt and memorable.

June 3, 2023 – The Maui County Farm Bureau presented a fun day with a 4-H
Livestock Fair, “Grand Taste” gourmet food, live music and many booths.
MG&B’s booth featured Ernie Rezents, our favorite arborist-supporter.
April 20, 2023 – A fascinating workshop at Maui College with David Moran
and specialists, about the arboretum’s history and care of the rare native
plants. In May, up at the beautiful Arboretum, an arborist’s work day was
held, followed by a Volunteer work day.

MG&B tracks the committee reports of Maui County’s Exceptional Trees and
other tree-related issues.

Maui and the tree community mourned the loss of Ernie Rezents on June

To honor Ernie, please help MG&B achieve the goal of having Ernie’s “Maui
