The first Maui Island Plan is still before our County Council, and soon they will examine our section of the Island. So that we are informed and aware, the April 17 public community meeting at 6:30 PM at the Charter School, 41 E. Lipoa , will address the subject in a cooperative effort with Faith Action for Community Equality (FACE) After a brief overview of the plan, coordinated by FACE and Planning Department representatives, the attendees will have the opportunity to examine the plan maps, as they indicate their preferences and concerns, before addressing a learned and experienced panel including Planning Director Will Spence with senior long term planner John Summers, Chris Hart, who helped develop the original plan, Councilman Don Couch, who will be voting on the final plan, and a FACE representative, conducted by KCA president Miller.
The photo of the Maui Food Bank collection container is to remind you of the dire need for non-perishable food donations at this & every monthly meeting. Please remember keiki and elders are going hungry right here on Maui.
Doors open at 6:00 PM for pupu and talk story. The May 15 meeting will examine huge development plans at the gateway to Kihei in South Puunene. Call 879-5390 for more information.

For those who want to see what the “Eclipse Mall and Promenade” colored drawing of what it’s suppose to look like, type that name into the search engines. It also can be helpful to have it among the KCA photos for convenience to comment on if webmaster is willing to post the drawing of it, that is, if it is legal to put the developers’ drawing on the site.
