The January 15 Community meeting allowed those attending to learn the 2013  identities of the four elected board officers( now posted on the  website,) observe the introduction of the new monthly “Sense of Place ” segment, and the added benefit of KCA membership with Hawaii USA credit union,https://www.hawaiiusafcu.com/Home.aspx,  before two informative valuable topics were presented on the Public Lands Development Corporation (PLDC) and the latest progress of the Kihei Charter School. If the presentation on PLDC helped you form an opinion, you can express that in an on line poll in the Honolulu Star Advertiser. http://www.staradvertiser.com/  3/4 way down page in center.

About  sixty guys attended, and many participated in the question and answer portion, showing great interest in all of the topics of the meeting.  The next meeting will be February 19 and examine the Kihei – Makena Community Plan process. Please remember donations for the Maui Food Bank at every meeting.

We had many inqueries about passing of long time KCA volunteer, Dottie Hughes. Please see http://www.obitsforlife.com/obituary/634115/Hughes-Dorothy.php

Check next week’s edition of the Maui Weekly for a detailed report of the meeting.
