The meeting opened with announcements for three upcoming community events over the next several days, all featured on the KCA website.

The meetings prime topic began with introduction of panelists by Kuhea Paracuelles, Environmental Coordinator for Mayor Charmaine Tavares, Anna Mae Shishido, Maui County Supervisor, HDOA Plant Quarantine Branch, Teya Penniman, Manager, Maui Invasive Species Committee and Warren Watanabe, Executive Director, Maui County Farm Bureau.

Following Power point presentation by Anna Mae Shishido, each panelist explained a segment of the probable effects of the proposed layoffs of the HDOA Plant Quarantine operations and impacts of proposed layoffs of inspectors, followed by lively questions and comments from the community.
