Last evening (3/15/16) the second General Membership meeting of 2016 brought together a variety of individuals and organizations whose work directly affects and is affected by the individuals and families usually called the homeless. It brought out OVER 100 concerned members & general public to listen, learn and ask questions.
Leading off was Jeny Bissell, R.N., B.S.N., Supervisor, Family Health Services Division, Maui District Health Office, followed by an enthusiastic team from Maui Youth & Family Services Frances Duberstein, Ashley Canillo, and Wendy DeCambra, and concluding, we welcomed our two Kihei MPD Community Police officers, Jared Dudoit and Taylor Kamakawiwo’ole and Sergeant (acting Lieutenant) Mike Crowe, and they offered a power point presentation, completing our presenters
The audience questions were extensive and varied and addressed to all the presenters. As we ran out of time (and overtime) much of the audience swarmed to ask face to face inquiries before departing with a supply of information documents
Our next meeting is May 17, examining So Maui development vs infrastructure
