Last evening, about seventy community members were present at St. Theresa church hall for our general membership meeting, focused on sheltering residents with presentations from three entities, Hawaii Community Foundation, Stand Up Maui and Share Your Mana.

First up was Share Your Mana where founder Lisa Darcy gathered a select group of individuals from the organization who are either currently houseless or had been previously, to address some topics she offered to them individually.

Next was Stand Up Maui’s Stan Franco, the very long time advocate.  He addressed the Comprehensive Affordable Housing Plan and what it calls for to make homes available for our residents.

 

The concluding presenters from Hawaii Community Foundation, (HFC) were the dynamic duo of Kate Blystone and Keoni Kuoha. South Maui knew Kate previously as a long range planner at the county department who led us through much of the outreach process for the South Maui Commmunity Plan before she moved on to HCF. Keoni previously served as the Vice Chair of the latest Charter Commission.
