8/11/25 #kihei       On Monday morning a County crew continued performing the various needed tasks to mitigate the damage caused by kai flooding along SKR last week.

Kai Conditions abated on Sunday (8/10), and we see today the waterline is far from the roadway.

SKR is full of signs. cones and barricades to stop traffic near intersections, such as this one at Uwapo

While the work crew tasks vary, here we see one controlling access to closed sections for a few residents on mauka SKR just north of Ohukai

Further North at Leilani Rd at SKR caught a few drivers with the ROAD CLOSED sign blocking access to SKR

No question here

Looking North from Ohukai intersection, where numerous Northbound vehicles roared up Ohukai Rd . only to reach the traffic signal at the highway

Local resident squeezes into driveway on SKR

No word from the County when this portion of SKR will reopen. Some wonder about the day when it will not reopen.
