(HB2215), enacted on June 20, 2018, requires motorists to allow a minimum of three feet of clearance when overtaking a bicyclist. Drivers must maintain this distance until safely past the cyclist. Are you aware of this law? When driving past a cyclist, do you obey it? Did you know Motorists may drive to the left of the center of the road—even in no-passing zones—to safely pass a cyclist, provided the lane is clear of oncoming traffic?

This is the first signage we have located in So Maui,, located off So Kihei Rd heeding North, just north of the intersection at Leilani Road

This stretch of SKR is designated for sharing by cyclists and drivers indicated by the sharrow symbol in the driving lane, and the traditional “Share the Road “. This is looking North toward toward the Waipuilani intersection .
