A few hours after the official road closure at 800 AM, the County heavy equipment coordinated dance was going strong in the area of Kaonoulu & SKR.

As they work Southbound from the No Kihei Rd intersection, this second phase between Ohukai and Kulanihakoi commenced today.

Unlike the prior closing segment of SKR, going South from Kaonoulu there are no alternative county streets, as our district waits for decades for construction of the North South Collector Road.
The only alternative route to proceed South is the State Pi’ilani highway, which works for motor vehicles, but is unsafe for pedestrians & cyclists
