This morning (2/26/13) Maui County Planning Director Will Spence traveled into Kihei to meet with the Association directors to discuss the Kihei Makena Community Plan (KMCP) and County planning procedures in general. Issues discussed included expected completion of a new KMCP and amendments to the present plan, present zoning process and how to improve it, community input and several related topics. The Association is most appreciative of Director Spence sharing his knowledge and experience with us.

Thanks for the update. About a year ago, I had some communication with Shawn Sweeney owner of Makena Beach Resort , with reference to how important their resort is in the developement of Makena in view of their hugh acreage. I have always been a keen concept, idea person ]many years with ad agencies & marketing] . I’ve learned thruout the years that people will gladly take the ideas free of charge if offerred. If there are any paying positions available in the developement of Kiehi-Makena I certainly would be interested. Thanks for your attention in this matter. Regards, Ed Glassel 879 2424
