Four Directors, a past President, a Committee Member & several members testify
With two items of strong interest to our community at top of agenda this morning (6/9/15), six of us testified to the Commission on Walgreens and Nani Loa Condo Hotel requests for land use changes for drafts of Environmental Assessments (EA) on both items.
In spite of our numbers, but due to the nature of an all volunteer unfunded non profit, we all left by noon before any decisions were made on either item, leaving our very concerned KCA members of the 2ed (Nani Loa) item to testify, listen to the presentation & Commission discussion and likely decision. The first (Walgreens) stil was under Commissioners discussion.
We are all anxious to learn what the Commission decided, and we thank our members who did send in some reports on both items. From those, it is our understanding that neither project was “good to go”, as commissioners agreed with all the testifiers we heard and are aware of that each one had numerous flaws and drawbacks, and were back to the “drawing board” to reexamine and make modifications, if the wanted to proceed.
