The State Department of Transportation and Department of Education along with the hired consultant, Group70, held a meeting in the evening of October 25 at Kūlanihāko‘i High School to present to the community the preliminary (second offering) design of the required overpass to access the school from the makai side of Pi’ilani Hwy.  More details can be found on the website.  They are just 30% through the design process so there is still time for community input as to what you would like to see as the signature landmark entering the south Maui communities of Kihei, Wailea and Makena, in addition to the primary access to Kihei’s state-of-the-art high school. Is this the best we can get? The DOE representative said this design melts into the background.
