We continue to follow the development in this central Kihei area mauka of the North-South Collector Road (Liloa) along both sides of Pi‘ikea with continued updates. Currently the action is in the three phases of Hale Pi‘ikea, as construction of the first phase is nearing completion, and the first move-ins are expected next month.

Phase one is expected to have first occupancy in the latter part of August, 2025

Tangentially, Pi‘ikea Avenue has been closed for months. So while over 1,200 applicants are hotly anticipating the outcome of the lottery, likely ten times as many people are focusing on when this totally refurbished and improved road will again be available for use.  There is a good chance that will happen by this month’s end.

This overview is obviously prior to apartment construction on South side of Pi‘ikea Ave. In upper left, a vehicle drives West on the road, a two-lane one, with no sidewalks nor bike lanes or paths.

While infrastructure work has been ongoing on the North side of the road, no development construction is planned at this time. Ultimately it is expected this will be commercial
