On Tuesday (11/18), at 6:30 PM at the Kihei Charter Middle School (41 E Lipoa), located behind the Kihei Car Wash at rear of plaza, our general membership forum closes out the year (NO meeting in December) with a unique topic. Doors open at 6:00 PM for pupu and social time, and a 6:30 prompt start.
The topic is electric “smart meters,”, and we welcome two advocates and two opponents including John Cole ,Assistant Specialist, Hawaii Natural Energy Institute from UH Manoa, and MECO’s team of Mat McNeff and Kurt Tsukiyama in support : and two unaffiliated citizen opponents, Dr Debra Green, Energy Health & Environment Consultant, and retired electrical engineer, Richard Billman.
Once again this meeting continues our ongoing food drive for the Maui Food Bank, (MFB) and you are encouraged to bring nourishing non perishable food donations collected at welcome table at front entrance.
Please renew your membership when due either on line at our website, or at the meeting. If you are not yet a member, please considering joining with us to better our community. Membership is not required to attend meetings, but encouraged. The more of “us” there are, the more we can accomplish. Also membership qualifies you to participate in Hawaii USA Federal Credit Union located in Kihei. Remember, we meet the third Tuesday of the month, but NOT in December, so this is last for 2014.
In addition to this presentation the general membership will elect the 2015 BOD at beginning of meeting, as prescribed by our by laws.
For more information call ( 508) 499-9996 or see www.gokihei.org . We have plain and heavily editorialized graphics. After the meeting you can decide what is appropriate for you.
