It was another full house nearing 100 on Tuesday evening (5/21/13) for our general membership meeting, kicking off at 6:30 PM with cultural specialist Hinano Rodriguez offering his concept of “sense of place.”  Next  followed  Maui Outdoor Circle’s President Elaine Malina introducing KCA to her organization, and outlining a number of their achievements,  http://www.outdoorcircle.org/branches/maui.

Environmental scientist Robin Knox moved the meeting on to the major topic of water via an enlightening  power- point presentation (see pictures below), followed by State Water Commissioner Jonathan Starr and Permaculturalist Michael  Howden, who each imparted a wealth of information in a very limited amount of time, before this  stellar trio sat down at the KCA table to answer all the membership questions until the meeting concluded, and several more one to one afterwards. KCA is most appreciative of all our guests sharing their time and knowledge, while informing and educating  our members and visitors. Look for a professional report in the Maui Weekly.

Our June 18 meeting will welcome South Maui’s three State Legislators for an up date on the 2013 session.
