South
Maui Coastal Heritage Trail

The August 19th KCA
Community Meeting topic was on the South
Maui Coastal Heritage Trail
.  A power
point presentation was offered by 4 board members from the KCA.  It included photographs of 2008 progress
along the trail from the Kihei Surf Side Resort to Waipuilani Park.

Break out groups from the
community discussed issues involving signage and transitional pathways and
other environmental concerns.  For a
complete review of the meeting content please pick up the next edition of the
Maui Weekly and read the review by author Scott Broadbent
.

Mahalo to many State and
County officials and employees that participated in this event and offered
their support and encouragement.  Special
thanks to State DLNR Land Agents Ornellas and Pacheco for their
attendance.  Also thanks to Cheryl
Sterling from the County Office of Economic Development for the Maui County
support of this trail and coastal corridor for over 10 years.

KCA says Mahalo to Hawaiian
Moons
for donation of delicious food.  The next KCA community meeting will take
place on Tuesday, September 16 to
meet the candidates running for elected State and County positions.  If you are interested in learning about how
their plans and ideas could shape South Maui, please
plan to be there and remember to bring canned food donations for the Maui Food
Bank.
