So we start the work week with Pi’ikea Rd still totally closed, and while SKR is open, construction limits a stretch to single lane alternate flow and as this continuous daily action for an indefinite period. Tomorrow the North end will be totally closed all day.

Pi’ikea seems all paved and striped- no green paint on bike lanes yet- sidewalks completed on both sides, but still closed to all modes of transportation on 8/18/25

The soon to be green bike lanes on Pi’ikea Rd will connect to the bike path along Liloa between Waipuilani and the Community Park

The “modified pond” enclosed by fencing on the North side of Pi’ikea (mauka of Longs Drugs) remains undisturbed by the construction

 

Meanwhile SKR continues with the daily (M-F} alternate single lane traffic flow in the area of Kulanihako’i Road

The work crew includes a group of guys like this with the SLOW/STOP signs to control the alternate flow on SKR

But tomorrow 8/19 it will be no lane flow at the North end of SKR. Hopefully this will be the last closure (until the next event!)
