August 30, 2025 #kihei

Since 1960, we have had our general membership meetings on the third Tuesday of every other month. Meeting locations have varied over those decades, but we are loving our present one, the Pro Arts Playhouse in Azeka Makai. Meeting commences at 6:30 PM.

First we remind everyone that KCA does NOT restrict participation in our meetings to our members. In addition, while we ask attendees to bring non-perishable, nutritious food donations for our Food Bank, that is not required

However, we do strongly advocate that you help us feed Maui’s hungry, and join our team. At the meeting ask our welcome team guys about our Pro Arts special deal when you join KCA.

So what is happening on September 16? Our bylaws prescribe that this annual meeting shoul include the general membership vote for the nominating committee (Nom Com) who will interview potential candidates for the 2026 KCA Board  of Directors. Voting IS for members only, but that will be a very small part of the meeting.

Next, you have seen on this website our five 2025 priorities. One of those central priorities is “Flood mitigation & Ecological Restoration'”  We are most fortunate to have Kihei resident Tova Callender address some aspects of that broad topic.

Then, from O‘ahu, we have representatives of ‘IKENAKEA  to present their 100% affordable rental housing project, Hale ‘O Pi‘ikea, just up the hill from our meeting location, the Pro Arts Playhouse.

We will also be keeping the community up-to-date on the North-South Collector Road, fire prevention and the major developments heading for Kīhei.

See you at 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 16!
