UPDATE: 12/4/2018 We see P B Sullivan bringing in their heavy equipment to start the grading and grubbing of this land, so the three story apartments for affordable rentals can be constructed here.
With so much development in this small area, at times it is difficult to ensure if a new project is commencing
11/30/18 NOW we see more evidence and confirmation that indeed this project is indeed commencing.
The state Department of Education’s Kihei high school mauka construction activity and the Maui Lu’s “Maui Bay Vista” timeshares makai land clearings by Goodfellow Brothers are already going strong. Is a new housing development going to happen between those two areas as well?
The last communication with the Pacific West Company’s team in Idaho had advised they expected to break ground either this month or next February. Now, this week we see a load of pipe delivered to the land at the southwest corner of Kaonoulu and the Pi’ilani Hwy, mauka of the North-South Collector Road (NSCR) corridor.
Over the years we had seen various items show up here, including county vehicles , apparently as an unofficial temporary drop spot, so therefore we will reserve judgment. However, it would be nice if a second affordable rental project was underway in North Kihei. Stay tuned
