Candidate debates

We’re hosting a Candidate Debate on Tuesday, September 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at ProArts Theater, and we’d love to see you there. This is a great chance to hear directly from the candidates who will be on the general election ballot and learn more about the people who hope to help shape Maui’s future.

The evening will feature four groups of candidates, each taking the stage for a lively and respectful conversation:

• State Representative: Amato & Walker

• Wailuku Council: Moniz & Lindsey

• Kahului Council: Batangan & Kamekona

• South Maui Council: Cook & King

Every one of these races will determine who holds a seat making major decisions for our island — from infrastructure and housing to public safety and environmental protection. By joining us, you’ll stay informed, hear candidate perspectives firsthand, and be part of a community that shows up and engages.
