Public Testifies to Council on Maui Island Plan

Starting at 9:00 AM this morning (11/27/12) over fifty guys exercised their last opportunity to testify to two thirds of the Council on the Maui Island Plan (MIP). One creative talented wahine , Veronica Silva, sang her testimony to preserve our natural environment. (See some of her lyrics in Maui News article, link below.) As of 1:00 PM the Council recessed as they would be losing quorum, to continue at 5:00 PM this evening. Your Association once again testified to exclude the 390 acres in Makena from the urban growth boundaries. Presently there are almost 10,000 housing units proposed in South Maui.
